AN INVITATION TO JOIN THE INTER-CHARITY NETWORK
All non-government organizations (NGOs), small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and civil society organizations (CSOs) are invited to join the Inter-Charity Network (ICN), a consortium of organizations that are working towards providing socio-economic services to its members.
All private corporations that have their own corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs are also invited to join, as well as foreign donors of official development assistance (ODA) programs.
Membership is FREE for all NGO, SME, CSO, CSR and ODA groups
ICN is a non-stock, non-profit corporation duly registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). The ICN office is located at Unit 324, Guadalupe Commercial Complex, Guadalupe Nuevo, EDSA, Makati City
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
1. Through the principle of consolidation, we will combine the buying power of our consortium, so that we could gather and gain the leverage to acquire the resources needed to support our socio-economic programs
2. Through the principle of integration, we will integrate the separate and disparate elements that are preventing the creation of the critical masses that are needed to form the ideal economies of scale and the desirable politics of numbers
3. Through the principle of cooperation, we will remove the barriers between and among our member organizations, so that we could think as one, move as one, and succeed as one consortium
GOVERNANCE
1. A Management Committee (MANCOM) will be formed from among the leaders of the member organizations. The members will be chosen by way of consultations
2. All policy decisions shall be submitted by ICN management to the MANCOM for consultation, and thereafter, the management shall be authorized it to make day to day operational decisions, for and on behalf of the consortium
OBJECTIVES
To help our members improve or increase their access to affordable socio-economic services.
To help our members raise funds and market their products and services.
STRATEGIES
Rely on our own resources by producing our own goods and services or by buying these collectively from the best possible sources.
Solicit donations for goods and services from government agencies and private companies that have resources to share.

CLOTHING- We have a small inventory of clothes to give away to those who need them. Our clothing distribution program has been in operation for ten months now
SHELTER- We have not started this program, but we have already received offers of vacant lots that may be used for home construction. We will soon be talking to developers of low cost homes for this purpose
MEDICINES- We already have a tie-up with a discount drugstore that also provides free medical consultation. We are also ready to receive batch orders of discounted prescription and non-prescription medicines through an arrangement with Unilab
GROCERIES- We are ready to accept wholesale and retail orders of discounted grocery items from Unilever and Kimberly Clark. A price list is already available at the ICN office for those who are interested
EMPLOYMENT- We have been running our referral system for ten months now, and we have already placed hundreds of job applicants through various employment agencies and direct employers
ENTERPRENEURSHIP - We have been running our entrepreneurship program for ten months now, and we have already trained hundreds of participants in various livelihood seminars. Many are already in business on their own, and several applicants have been referred to our partner microfinance organizations
EDUCATION- We have been running our scholarship referral system for three months now, and we have already referred many applicants to TESDA and MFI. We are in the process of negotiating discounts and extended payments with a number of schools
INVESTMENT- We have an existing tie-up with Security Bank so that members could join a savings program that is oriented towards buying transport units for business purposes. We also have an existing tie-up with Accord Capital so that members could buy stocks in small quantities. A number of members have already bought stocks through this arrangement
INSURANCE- This program is not yet operational but we are soon going to meet with prospective providers, including Philhealth
FOOD BANK- We have been running a small scale food bank for ten months now, but distributing food donations only to individual indigents, and not yet through member organizations. Meanwhile, a volunteer lawyer is already preparing the legal framework so that we could issue tax credits and liability waivers to future donors
JOB BANK- We now have about three thousand entries in our database, composed of many skilled individuals. Right now, there are about eight employment agencies or direct employers that are regularly using the Job Bank to search for prospective employees
SEED BANK- This program is not yet fully operational, but we have already identified several sources of seed stocks with the help of the Agro Amigo Movement. However, we are now ready to supply fish stocks in the form of fingerlings for tilapia, eel and lobster. We are also ready to supply aqua feeds. Eventually, we will also include animal stocks (piglets, chicks). We are also ready to supply organic feeds and fertilizers
BOOK BANK- We have a small inventory of books on hand, and we have been giving away books in small quantities for ten months now. Meanwhile, we have a standby arrangement with the Rotary Club of Makati, for them to supply large quantities of books as soon as we are able to establish our distribution system
FUND RAISING AND MARKETING SUPPORT PROGRAMS
WEB PORTAL- We are now building a FREE web portal wherein our members will be able to sell their products and services for free. All they have to do is to submit their product profiles and suggested retail prices (SRPs).
DONATION CARDS- A telecom service content provider has already agreed to supply us with donation cards that will be sold in 20 to 50 peso denominations. The cards will have secure numbers that will be scratched by buyers, for them to be able to donate to any of our members by sending these numbers to the servers of Globe, Smart and Sun Cellular
CONCESSIONS- Using our status as a charitable organization, we are going to apply for gift shop, copy shop and snack bar concessions in malls, airports and other heavy traffic locations. The products sold in these concessions will be supplied by our member organizations
